Prepping for the upcoming season cont. (RBs, WRs, and TEs that changed teams)

Now I'll get into the non QB players that changed teams and if you should view and value them differently in their new Diggs... 😅

Todd Gurley: Gurley is now in the ATL lining up behind Matt Ryan and surprisingly they didn't bring in another back. I originally loved his TD upside in this offense but recent news of limited work and limping at practice have me skeptical. Then ESPN pulled a quote from someone familiar with his Rams situation basically saying he can't plant and go like his old self anymore. On top of all that there's his abysmal 1.7 yards after contact per attempt he posted last season. That's scary for a guy who was top 5 in the category the previous season. If you want to grab him at his current ADP 30 I can't fault you he still comes with the TD upside especially in although I'd wait till around picks 35-40 an offense that lost Hooper, Freeman and Sanu along with a star WR that has trouble scoring TDs. I for one think he will fall in the end zone about 10 times and will def absorb some of those vacated targets but his days of being a 250+ carry and 60+ target a year back are over it seems.

DeAndre Hopkins joins Kyler and company in the desert to form one of the most dynamic and quick hitting offenses in the NFL. I think Nuk helps everyone around him and is a perfect fit but him getting the massive target share he received in HOU is highly unlikely. Arizona is a quick passing and misdirection offense. Lots of short passes around the line of scrimmage and Nuk isn't a big "run after the catch guy". I like him this year but not at his late first round price tag.

David Johnson moves to HOU. There's many around the fantasy community that are excited about DJ being the lead back behind Watson. In a vaccum it looks great and he really has no major challenge for touches but if you have eyes in your head and watched him last season in Arizona you can see he looked broken down and done. The argument for him seems to be he was hampered by an injury and will return to form. Well I'm not buying it. I'm not drafting him anywhere near his current ADP.

Emmanuel Sanders heads to the Big Easy to join Brees and company. Pairing one of the most precise veteran route runners in the league with most accurate QBs of all time is interesting to say the least. Some will argue that MT is the guy and he's not cutting into his targets and others will say MT will take all the attention and Sanders can eat up all the single coverage. At his 9th round price tag it's not much risk to find out. If I get to the 9th and Emmanuel is sitting on my board I'm taking him to find out. At worst he's a solid bye week filler.

Melvin Gordon: The Chargers let Gordon walk and he lands in Denver. He definitely gets an upgrade in OL but Phillip Lindsay is still there last time I checked and he's more of a threat to steal carries than Ekeler was in LA. That caps his upside in this offense but if you're looking for an RB2 with a safe floor to pair with a highly volitale WR like Tyreek I won't argue with that strategy. I just like to maximize upside in these picks and like the RBs taken around him a bit better because they own their backfield or offer RB1 upside. 3rd round ADP is right on what his production should be.

Stefon Diggs Takes his talents to Eastern NY and gives Allen the #1 WR he desperately needs for his development. I think Allen had gotten better every game last season and Diggs definitely increases Josh's upside. As for Diggs himself I think his production will remain about the same. It's a lower volume passing attack but Diggs will be the focal point. Value wise it does way more for the offense as a whole but with Allen's big arm don't sleep on Diggs and his big play making ability. The problem is his ADP has him going around guys like Mclaurin, Woods and Chark and RBs like Conner and Swift. He's a tough sell in that area as much as I like this Bills offense to take the next step in 2020 the targets just might not be there.

Brandin Cooks Hitching a ride with David Johnson on his way to HOU to catch passes from Watson. Cooks' speed and Watson's deep ball should mix well but on his 4th team in 5 years is definitely a red flag along with the fact that 1 more concussion could end his career. I'm kind of out on this whole injury riddled HOU offense. The possibility of Watson being without his #1 & #2 WRs and his RB1 for streches is very likely given their track records. Let other people take a shot on Cooks. I'd rather take a chances on Fuller and Duke at their current prices

Robby Anderson & Teddy B in Carolina: Anderson is Reunited with his former College coach Matt Rhule in Carolina. His arrival in my eyes spells the end for the air yards king Curtis Samuel but with Teddy B at QB I didn't see many air yards to be had in the first place. I don't think Rhule brought him in to be the guy (at least I hope not). I believe that "guy" is and will be DJ Moore he plays well more to Teddy's skillset where he can take short and intermediate passes in stride and make defenders miss. If Rhule thinks he's going to have a downfield passing attack with Anderson and Samuel on the outside Teddy won't be under center for very long. This teams Defense also might be the worst in the league and having a game manager at QB will frustrate fans and coaches. If you watched the XFL at all you might know they have a QB on the roster that is an exciting playmaker with rushing ability and a penchant for splash plays but besides Moore and CMC I'm not investing in anyone else in this offense unless I hear PJ Walker might see the field.

Eric Ebron gives Pittsburgh the TE redzone threat they desperately need. Trying to make Vance McDonald a thing for a few years wasn't happening in the long run. I think he limits Juju's TD upside and possibly Conner's as well but if you pass on TE till the later rounds he's a decent value and always a threat to score a TD as he showed in years past. 10+ TDs is inside the realm of possibility

Austin Hooper ends up in Cleveland and if they didn't retain Njoku I'd be semi interested because of Baker's tendency to target TEs in the red zone. 33%+ of the time. That's pretty crazy but the fact they promised David Njoku a role on this team will probably lead to him and Hoop cannabilizing each other. Hard pass at Hooper's ADP

Hayden Hurst is a lot more talented than the casual fantasy player gives him credit for. Problem was he played behind Mark Andrews at the time when TEs usually break out. I'll even argue he's more athletic than Hooper who he's replacing in ATL. And now Matt Ryan is his QB and has no other Red Zone specialists on the team besides at RB in Todd Gurley. Huge TD upside in this offense makes Hurst a smash buy at his ADP. Get as many shares as possible

There are a few more players that changed teams but they are barely worth mentioning as they don't have much value or don't change much about how you should view them. Eifert, Perriman, even Randall Cobb don't excite me at all. Cobb kugtb be involved but at this stage in his career offers little upside and I don't look for floor plays late in drafts.
