10 Moves To Make Before Your Trade Deadline
10 Moves To Make Before Your Trade Deadline
1) Buy Miles Sanders If you can get Sanders for a combination of a WR2 + RB2/Flex I'd go for the upgrade. The Eagles offense is getting healthy all at once and the matchups for Sanders moving forward are favorable. The upgrade in total offense for the Eagles gives Miles a decent shot at a TD or 2 every week.
2) Buy Derrick Henry If you are lined up to make your playoffs do whatever you can to get Derrick Henry. He will be expensive but his playoff schedule is just fantastic. JAX, DET, GB. It doesn't get much better than that. If your trade deadline is a little later you can actually wait a week or two (he has a few rough matchups upcoming) then shoot your shot. He's a league winner for a playoff bound team.
3) Buy Kareem Hunt This is a buy low. He's not going to be valued any lower than he is now. With Chubb coming back and Hunt not exactly capitalizing on the feature back opportunity he was afforded the past few weeks. Managers might be frustrated and view him as unstartable. See if you can get him on a discount.
4) Sell Todd Gurley He's boyued his numbers with TDs. If you've watched the Falcons play you'll see he just plain does not look good. If you can get a top TE or a WR1 for him I'd pull the trigger.
5) Sell Jakobi Meyers I get it he's been amazing lately and you just scooped him off the waiver wire for nothing. He had a highly productive game in prime time recently and I think that's as high as he'll ever go. Isaiah Ford is coming to town and that passing offense is broken. Not to mention Cam is at risk to get benched so the Pats can see what they have in Stidham. If you can flip him at WR2 ish value do it now.
6) Buy Tyler Lockett Even some highly visible Fantasy anyalists are down on Lockett. Yes he's underperformed the past few weeks but in this offense I see it as a buy low opportunity. Others may view DK Metcalf's rise to top 5 WR status in this league somehow as a negative for Lockett. I see it as him taking coverage away and leaving him 1on1 against thier second corner. Also, Russ isn't the type of QB to force feed his #1 when he has other pass catchers open in 1on1 situations. I like offering guys like CEH or a combo of low end RB2/flex + WR3 for him.
7) Buy or Sell Nyheim Hines I know this looks confusing but it's a question of price. If you have a manager trying to "Sell High" after his big Thurs night performance and you can get him for say Mike Evans who's arrow is pointing down. Do it. If you have him and have other managers willing to give up WRs like Lockett or something for him I'd do that in a heartbeat as well. I'm leaning towards the sell side here but if you can buy him with pieces you aren't willing to start go for it.
8) Sell Terry McLaurin Alex Smith has taken over at QB and that scares the bejesus out of me as someone that rosters him. At this point you almost need to hope they go back to Haskins. I'd get what I could for him now before the bottom falls out.
9) Buy Austin Ekeler There was a video leaked of him running close to full speed this week which might put him on track to play next week. There hasn't been a buzz around him and his progress. Anyone stashing him might be willing to just rid themselves of him. I think he would step into an even larger role than he left with the inconsistencies at the RB position the Chargers have dealt with. Don't overpay but if you can get him, get him now.
10) Buy Lamar Jackson There's a stipulation here. If you're in a "home league" which is a league populated with managers that overvalue recognized names and QBs this isn't doable. But if you are in a savvy league that knows Jackson isn't even in the top 13 QBs this year you might be able to capitalize. Jackson's schedule finally opens up in the back half and I think he might have been dealing with a leg Injury he's been playing through. I'm expecting vintage 2019 Lamar heading into the playoffs.
