Rookie Preview (RB edition Part 2)

6) Ke'Shawn Vaughn (Buccaneers) ADP:96
Early in the summer I like many others were high on Vaughn. I thought he would come in and immediately lead the backfield in touches (being an Arians pick). Then the Bucs signed Shady and committed to Ronald Jones as their feature back. Now you can get Vaughn on more of a discount only problem is he's lacking in the pass pro department and we know Brady won't stand for that. On tape Vaughn has great vision and contact balance. He has a compact build and absorbs contact well. He slips off defenders and his 3.73 YAC/att speaks for itself. His listed ADP is inflated due to his off-season hype that has since cooled to near ice. He can be had for a discount now but I still don't know if I'd want him. Ronald Jones seems to be the guy and Dare O will be involved in passing downs at some capacity then Shady should sprinkle in some touches. Tampa's backfield has turned into a mess and I don't think Vaughn has a path to significant touches in this offense.

7) Zack Moss (Buffalo) ADP:135
Zack Moss comes into Buffalo and figures to slide into the Frank Gore role in this offense. That doesn't sound very significant but Gore had redzone duties which I think Moss can do more with than Gore did. He can also take over passing downs as he's a better pass catcher in my eyes than Sigletary. Moss is a power back with some wiggle. On tape he has an upright gliding style of running. He wears defenders out and has a knack for making big plays. He lacks the top end speed of the Pedigree RBs but he can still break free of the 1st and 2nd level defenders. I think Moss will thrive in the roll the Bills have for him and I love where I can get him in drafts. I'm going to own a ton of Zack Moss this year.

8) AJ Dillon (Packers) ADP:166
Dillon is a monster 6' 250 and ran a 4.53 40 time at the combine. People like to compare him to Derek Henry but I don't particularly like that assessment. He's his own back long strider in the open field allows this big load of a man to get up to top speed quickly. He is a violent runner and has decent shake for a man his size. I think he starts out at the very least GBs short yardage and possibly goalline back. That's bad news for a guy being drafted pretty high in Aaron Jones. I think Dillon will be in a 3 back rotation with Jones and Williams rendering them all pretty useless in fantasy. If you're going to take a shot on this backfield Dillon makes the most sense being the cheapest option and figuring to have short yardage duties off the bat.

9) Antonio Gibson (WFT) ADP:183
At 6'2 220 running a 4.39 he is long and strong and down to get the friction on. More fast than quick but very ellusive. Can make defenders miss and break tackles in the short area and has the top end speed to outrun defenders on the 2nd and 3rd level. His jump cuts are deadly noand easily breaks arm tackles. He's deadly in the screen game and once he gets outside in space. Now that Guice is out of the picture it's all aboard the hype train for Gibson. At his early 16th round ADP he's a steal. You won't be getting him there for long tho. I'd try and snag him in the 13 or 14th round. Only challenge on the roster for carries is Adrian Peterson who at his age is probably only good for 10-15 maximum. Edit (Gibson's ADP has risen to 124) P.S. I'm still buying him at that price

10) Joshua Kelly (Chargers) ADP:210
Kelly is a straight line downhill runner. Quick feet with nice cuts. Has a terrific juke/dead leg move to make second defenders slip off him. Nice acceleration and has the speed to take runs to the house on any play. Nice power too, finishes runs strong and can run through smaller defenders. Dosen't shy away from contact. Kelly has the task of competing with Justin Jackson for the complimentary role behind Ekeler and honestly with Tyrod under center I think he's a better fit for this offense. I think his role will start out at 5-8 carries a game with the possibility of earning Goalline duties. Joshua will need an injury to Jackson and/or Ekeler to be relevant this season however. More of a dynasty hold in my eyes

11) Darrynton Evans (Tennessee) ADP:206
Seemingly the only RB behind Henry. He's a speedy runner with a nice jab step and stutter to make defenders miss. Decent at pass protection. I can see him sliding into a passing down role almost immediately. Smooth catcher who gets upfield quickly once securing the catch. Easily makes adjustments to the ball in the air. Can line up at WR as well and be a weapon the Titans can move around. As far as fantasy value I see more real life value in Darrynton in this low volume efficient passing game. Unless Henry misses time. At his 17th round ADP he won't be drafted in many leagues

There's a few more I've watched tape on but I feel don't have much fantasy value outside of dynasty Anthony McFarland Jr is a decent big strong back in Pittsburgh that could be value if Conner and Snell miss time. Lynn Bowden Jr is an interesting one in Vegas he played QB as well and would make for a cool gadget piece in that offense.
