Week 2 streaming options
Last week's streaming article came out earlier in the week but that's not because I forgot to write one. I see the big networks and anyalists give their streamers and start/sits early in the week. Some as early as Tuesday. It's just a race to put out content to get the most clicks. I don't care about clicks. I just want to help managers be better at fantasy.
Just like we discussed on how to not suck at your draft. You wouldn't use a magazine published in July to draft in September. That information is outdated. The same can be said about a streaming or start/sit article that comes out on Tues or Wednesday. With injury updates that information is already outdated. The best decisions are made after all the information is available.
Now that we have some clarity on players I can confidently give you my streaming options for this week. Just like the previous week I'll give some QB TE and Defensive options to plug into your lineup and start this week. Let's start with the QB position.
(Available in 50% or more of Yahoo leagues)
Quarterback
Philip Rivers v Minnesota: The Vikings defense was shredded at home by Rodgers and his pass catchers in week 1. Rivers isn't nearly Rodgers but he's got a much better surrounding cast and a fantastic offensive line. Rivers is widely available being rostered in just 27% of leagues.
Mitchell Trubisky v NY Giants: Rivers is my preferred stream but Mitch has a nice matchup. The Giants looked good in the first half but once Big Ben realized if he threw at anyone other than Bradbury he'd have success. I think the Trubisky to Miller connection is going to be working for them all day.
Ryan Tannehill v Jacksonville: This is the floor play of the week. Tannehill should play mistake free football and always has a shot at a rushing TD when defenders sellout to stop Henry. However I think this is a Henry game and Titans will control the clock limiting Tannehill's upside.
Tight End
Logan Thomas @ Arizona: Sometimes training camp hype is just noise. In this case I'm buying in. It's stranger than fiction. A QB in the league 6 years changes position and is turning heads at TE?!? That just sounds crazy. 8 targets against Philly to lead the WFT last week plus redzone action that he turned into 4/37/1. Now he gets Arizona who is the TE punching bag for the past few years. Get on this hype train before it pulls out of the station.
OJ Howard v Carolina: Howard was out snapped by Gronk but it's obvious when you watch who the more capable playmaker is at this stage in their respective careers. With Godwin likely sidelined there should be plenty of targets available.
Eric Ebron v Denver: There was a rumour around the Giants beat writers that the Giants Defense was selling out to cover Ebron in the redzone and that's how Juju scored so easily. I might be being stubborn on Ebron but just see so much TD upside with him in this offense.
Jordan Akins v Baltimore: It's not a great matchup but I'm a believer in Akins' talent. Available nearly everywhere.
Mo Alie-Cox v Minnesota: A super athletic TE thrust into a starting gig due to injury. There should be a bunch of endzone opportunities for Indianapolis.
Defense
Washington Football Team @ Arizona: That Football team's front looked dominating and Chase Young looked every bit worth the 1st round pick. Kyler has the skills to evade this rush but I'm willing to roll the dice.
Tampa Bay v Carolina : Tampa's Defense was flying around week1. The much improved unit led by Devon White was looking like the stud they drafted in the 1st round.
