Week 3 desperation plays and DFS dart throws π―
The injuries are piling up and fantasy managers are getting desperate. If you have been ravaged by injuries and need a deep dive into the FA pool that can return some assemblence of fantasy value you came to the right place. Or if you just wanted some cheap upside DFS plays that will allow you to build the rest of your roster with stars, you also came to the right place. We're going to start with the desperation plays in season long then go over the DFS values.
These are strictly desperation plays in season long so you're probably not considering starting them unless you're in the deepest of leagues. With the IR spots in leagues this year the FA pool is extremely thin and injuries are piling up especially at the WR position.
Desperation Plays
(Players rostered in 5% or less of Yahoo leagues)
Rex Burkhead (5%) He played well and with White missing another game he can fill in that passing role and take inside hand-offs.
Adam Humphries (5%) With AJ Brown out again and Tannehill playing at such a high level Humphries offers a bit of a floor if you're desperate.
Zach Pascal (4%) With Parris Campbell lost for what looks like most of the year the targets need to go somewhere. Most think it will be Pittman but what if Pascal carves out a role.
Deonte Harris (3%) He saw 5 targets last week and a rush attempt I'm each game. He also gets return yards if your league accounts for that.
Tee Higgins (3%) The Bengals sent 13 targets twards AJ Green last week for very little success. When they targeted Higgins however they were having success.
Danny Amendola (2%) Managers might shy away from Amendola due to Golladay's return. I think his role will stay the same and he should see his customary 7 targets he's been seeing.
Darnell Mooney (1%) Mooney is playing ahead of Anthony Miller and has a fantastic matchup. His ceiling is sky high this week.
Jeff Driskel (2%) I actually almost put Driskel on my streaming list. One thing I know is he's going to take his shots. He already seems to have a connection with Jeudy. Great start for Superflex or 2QB leagues.
Nick Mullens (1%) Only an option in 2 QB/superflex leagues. He's lacking weapons but the backs in the screen game could boost his value against the Giants defense or lack thereof.
DFS dart throws π―
These are guys that you can save on to allow you to pay up for stars at other positions. Some are exclusive to a single site and some are values at both. I'll provide prices for them as well.
QB
Jeff Driskel DK 5300 / FD 6500
Daniel Jones DK 5500 / FD 6900
Mitch Trubisky DK 5700
Justin Herbert DK 5900 / FD 7200
Ryan Tannehill DK 5900 / FD 7400
Philip Rivers FD 7000
Driskel is a great value and should offer low ownership. Jones might be forced to use his legs more and this SF secondary isn't as good as people think. They can be beat on the outside. DJ and Slayton offer a cheap stack for GPP.
RB
Joshua Kelly DK 5000 / FD 5900
D'Andre Swift DK 5000 / FD 5300
Jerrick Mckinnon DK 4900 / FD 5700
Devin Singletary DK 4900 / FD 5400
Antonio Gibson DK 4700 / FD 5500
Tarik Cohen DK 4300 / FD 5000
Rex Burkhead DK 4000 / FD 4800
Jeff Wilson Jr DK 4000 / FD 5200
Jeff Wilson is one of my favorite plays this week. I think he leads the 9ers in touches out of the backfield. Cohen offers the low ownership upside for GPP and Gibson is a screaming value at that price in DK.
WR
Russell Gage DK 5100 / FD 5600
Jerry Jeudy DK 5000 / FD 5300
Anthony Miller DK 5000 / FD 5500
Darius Slayton DK 4900 / FD 5500
Golden Tate DK 4500 / FD 5400
Michael Pittman DK 4000 / FD 5000
Chase Claypool DK 3700 / FD 5000
Darnell Mooney DK 3000 / FD 4800
Andy Isabella DK 3800 / FD 4500
Pittman is my favorite value here but he will probably be widely owned in GPP. Mooney is super sneaky and dirt cheap. Isabella on FanDuel is fun too especially with that games O/U set over 55 and Kirk out.
TE
Jordan Reed DK 4000 / FD 5300
Mo Alie-Cox DK 3800 / FD 5000
Logan Thomas DK 3700 / FD 4900
Drew Sample DK 3500 / FD 4800
Dan Arnold DK 2800 / FD 4300
Reed is solid in cash but his price is a bit high. Drew Sample and Logan Thomas are cheap and solid values. Dan Arnold is dirt cheap and in a high scoring game the only pass catching TE on Arizona.
Defense
Cheepo Defense of the week is π₯π₯π₯π₯
πΊπΊπΊNY GiantsπΊπΊπΊ DK 2700 / FD 3600
San Francisco is beyond banged up if the Giants can force them into negative game script they can tee off on Mullens and force turnovers.
