Week 4 Streaming Options
Week 4 Streaming Options
The QB streams thus far have been hit or miss. To be honest mostly miss but there are brighter days ahead. Now that we have a handle on which defenses to avoid and which to target we can assess the available QB pool a bit better. While the streams haven't been great, the QBs picked late in drafts (Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, Gardner Minshew, and Joe Burrow) have been more than serviceable and the managers that picked Lamar Jackson in the 1st or 2nd round have been dissapointed thus far. (Just a shameless "wait on QB" jab)
As always I'll provide my favorite streams for the QB, TE, and defense positions. This week I have a few confident streams at the QB position so let's start there as usual.
( Available in 50% or more of Yahoo leagues)
Ryan Fitzpatrick v Seattle (20%) This is probably my favorite stream of the year so far. Seattle has been hemorrhaging points to the QB and WR positions this year. Fitz has the weapons and the "nothing to lose" mentality to take full advantage.
Gardner Minshew @ Cincinnati (45%) Yes, Minshew had a disastrous outing against Miami on Thursday night but he should be getting his BFF Chark back this week. My only concern here is game script. If Robinson can take advantage of Cincinnati's poor run defense that might limit Minshew's opportunities.
Baker Mayfield @ Dallas (42%) This is a volume play. Dallas should put up points and force Baker to the air. Dallas's secondary isn't great either. However watch O'Dell's and Hunt's status. Odell or both sit Baker is off my streaming list.
Kirk Cousins @ Houston (27%) Cousins is always a risky proposition as a streaming option but he gets a beatable defense in Houston and I think the Vikings and Kubiak found something last week getting Jefferson on the field.
Tight End
Dalton Schultz v Cleveland (43%) Streaming TEs is never ideal. You're always just chasing volume (usually variable at this position) and hoping for a TD. Schultz offers both volume and TD upside in this high powered offense.
Jordan Akins v Minnesota (13%) Akins is going to be on this list until people finally catch on. He had a down week 3 but I think he bounces back in this matchup. 13% ownership in Yahoo means he's widely available. If you're missing Jonnu or been streaming he's a fine option.
Robert Tonyan v Atlanta (13%) His targets have increased every week and he gets a fantastic matchup. Did I mention Aaron Rodgers is his QB? He's got boom potential in this game and Lazard was just ruled out. Someone needs work that underneath while Adams works the outside.
Jimmy Graham v Indianapolis (44%) The matchup isn't spectacular but Graham has been getting the redzone targets. That's really all you need in a fantasy TE.
Mo Alie-Cox @ Chicago (31%) with Indy losing yet another WR there are more targets up for grabs. Doyle returning as the "co-starter" will cut into Cox's opportunity but I have a feeling Cox will be used more as a WR moving forward.
Defense
Arizona @ Carolina (45%) The Cardinals have been fairly good on defense. They have at least 3 sacks in every game this year.
Dallas v Cleveland (24%) When Baker falls behind he tends to gift defenses turnovers. Hopefully the Cowboys can force him into some bad decisions
That's it for the streams this week. Hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Follow me on twitter for any start/sit or general questions @Chris_Cianci
