Week 5 Start/Sit

                           Week 5 Start/Sit

I'd like to apologise for not putting out an official start/sit article for week 4. Things were in flux and I was on full tilt due to covid-19 drama. I did however write a plug and play article which included some starts at the end. Most of them were horrible recommendations. 😬 Now as a community I think we have it figured out (to an extent). Half the leagues I'm in are doing "emergency subs" for games postponed due to covid-19. Others are just leaving managers to fend for themselves and figure it out on their own. I tend to side with the latter just as to not overcomplicate an already complicated situation but to each their own. I will be posting on Twitter how you may be able to take advantage of your league's commissioner allowing for subs so make sure you follow me.
Now let's get into the start/sits. I'll start with the RBs as usual.

Running Backs
Start✅
Antonio Gibson One thing Kyle Allen was able to do in Carolina last year was get the ball to his playmakers. I think Gibson will see increased opportunity moving forward

Joshua Kelly With Ekeler now on the shelf we should see Kelly step into an increased role. The matchup isn't great this week but he's still a low end RB2/Flex option

Mark Ingram If there was any week to start Ingram this would be it. I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 Baltimore RBs scored in this game.

Devonta Freeman Freeman is clearly the preferred back on the Giants roster and he looks like he has some still left in the tank. With the Giants likely trailing here he should gobble up underneath targets in 🗑️🕑

Sit❌
Latavius Murray Don't chase his points from last week. MT should be back which limits his TD upside

D'Ernest Johnson I know you just spent all your FAAB on him but this is a bad matchup and he's behind a now healthy Kareem Hunt

Damien Harris I liked his usage last week and he looked good but he will always lose passing work to White, Cam might play taking away TDs, and he has a tougher matchup this week.

Wide Receivers
Start✅
Justin Jefferson The Seahawks are THE cake matchup for opposing WRs and Jefferson has been excellent since taking over a starting role.

Darius Slayton & Golden Tate  Of course this is relative to who is on your team but there should be plenty of volume for these 2 this week. Slayton could push for WR2 value and Tate is a WR3 in PPR for me.

Michael Gallup & CeeDee Lamb The strongest part of the Giants defense is Bradbury. He should follow Cooper around all day leaving these two with the plus matchups. This isn't a bench Amari Cooper take either. He's still a start.

Will Fuller He's always a risk for a mid game Injury but when he's playing I'm a good matchup you need to start him.

Hollywood Brown I realize he's been frustrating but this is what he does. Has 2-4 quiet games then explodes. This matchup is set up for him to explode.

Sit❌
AJ Green I just don't think he has it anymore. He looks like he's laboring out there and he's getting outplayed by Higgins. You can't start him right now.

TY Hilton I don't know if it's TY that's the main issue with his lack of production or it's Rivers just being bad. Even in a pretty good matchup I'm not trusting him untl he shows some of the old TY.

Jarvis Landry Colts are a brutal matchup and in a likely neutral or positive game script I don't see the Browns throwing much. I almost put OBJ on here as well but he just made the cut.

Deebo Samuel Not just yet. He's being eased back in but my main concern is them jumping out to an early lead and resting him in the 2nd half.

Tight Ends
Start✅
Evan Engram The targets have been there but the Giants have been awful on Offense. I'm betting on him turning the targets into points this week.

Jonnu Smith Maybe not the best option due to the uncertainty of the game but if your league allows subs fire him up. The Bills are weak over the middle of the field.

Eric Ebron My #1 stream this week and might be a matchup based start moving forward. I like him over the sits I'm about to list.

Sit❌
Austin Hooper I still see Hooper being started and I'm not sure why. Get him out of your lineup.

Tyler Higbee This one hurts. I was a big Higbee guy preseason. If you start him you're basically praying for a TD because the volume just isn't there.

Quarterbacks
Start✅
Gardner Minshew Yes I'm back on my Minshew BS. Can you blame me? He's been good except for that one week we don't talk about.

Teddy Bridgewater A start and was my top streamer. Since I wrote that article his ownership has gone over 50%. If he smashes in this game he'll likely be a matchup based starter moving forward.

Deshaun Watson He's had a rough year so far but the Jaguars defense is exactly what he needs. Fire him up.with confidence.

Sit❌
Joe Burrow I love him long term but this Baltimore defense is not what I want to see him tangle with. Don't drop him but pickup one of my streams to start this week instead.

Carson Wentz Pittsburgh his the highest pressure rate in the league and Wentz is already getting pressured at an alarming rate. This game could get ugly for him.

That does it for this week's start/sits. Thanks for reading. If you have any questions contact me on Twitter @Chris_Cianci
