Week 6 Start/Sit

                         Week 6 Start/Sit

With byes and injuries there's not many sits at the RB position. If you need a bye week filler or you are short at RB you're obviously starting any player with volume. There are a few players you should temper expectations on and I'll list them as "sits". It's not an advocation to sit them at all costs. Remember these recommendations are relative to your team's situation. I'm in leagues where I have to make a decision between starting Jonathan Taylor or James Conner. Then in another it's between Akers and Hines. So always keep your own situation in mind. It's helps to actually write out your own rankings each week based on matchup and current situation. You'll get a much clearer idea on who to start.
As usual I'll start with the Running Backs

Running Backs
Start✅
Devonta Freeman His touches and involvement in the offense has risen each week. In a game the Giants are actually projected to win he should be leaned on to minimize Jones' mistakes.

Antonio Gibson I'm going back to the well here. It wasn't a terrible start last week but the game got away from them and Mckissick was heavily involved in garbage time. This week I think will be a more competitive game and Gibson will be able to take advantage.

Chase Edmonds I'm going out on a limb here but I think Edmonds gets more involved this week. Even if not as a runner he lines up in the slot as well. In PPR he's in a highly efficient yet low volume role.

Sit❌
Malcolm Brown Henderson looks the best and McVay said he wants to get Akers more touches. I think that leaves Brown as the odd man out. He's boarding on droppable in 10&12 team leagues.

Devin Singletary This isn't a full sit. He still squeezes inside my top 25 but I've seen him up in people's top 10 which is insane to me. Yes I know KC is weak against the run. With Moss coming back, Allen taking attempts away, and him being wildly inefficient on Tuesday. I can't see how he'll score much.

Frank Gore The answer to any question is never Frank Gore. While he may finish in the top 36 technically making him a "flex" he offers little to no upside. Starting Gore basically says "I want 6 Fantasy points." Give me guys like Swift/Hines/or Akers Instead. I'd usually rather risk the low floor to get the high ceiling at a flex.

Wide Receivers
Start✅
Keelan Cole Even if Chark plays I still like Cole here. He's never seen less than 5 targets in a game this year and now gets a highly beatable Detroit defense in a projected shootout.

Chase Claypool I don't think we'll see 4 TDs from him but 1 or 2 is definitely in the realm of possibility. With Dionte Johnson out he's in a prime spot to build on his rookie campaign.

Christian Kirk Another team's #2 that's been seeing consistent targets and now plays in a game projected to be a shootout. Kirk should eat up single coverage in this one.

Jamison Crowder Why am I seeing Crowder outside of people's top 38?!? Is he too boring? I don't know why he's always so low on people's boards. Start him with confidence.

Mecole Hardman Watkins is out and Hill will see Tre White in coverage. That should open things up for Hardman big time.

Justin Jefferson I'm going back to the well on Jefferson here. He missed last week but I like his matchup once again and I think we see him score and hit the Griddy again. 👌🕺👌

Sit❌
Terry McLaurin His QB situation is in flux, he's in a bad offense, and he gets Bradberry in coverage this week. I love his talent but the odds are stacked against him this week.

Jerry Jeudy Even if he doesn't draw Gilmore in coverage he'll probably see Jonathan Jones who's allowing just 6.4 Yards per target. It's probably going to be a long day for the Broncos offense as a whole as well.

Marquise Brown Hollywood was a start for me last week and he paid off. This week he's a sit potentially drawing Slay in coverage. He still has the explosiveness to score on a long throw but I'm not betting on the long shots here.

DJ Moore I simply can't trust him. I know he had that long catch and run last week and he can always do that but he's not going to come.close to.what he did last year. I'm still starting him some places but I'm not expecting more than low end WR2 production.

Tight Ends
Start✅
Austin Hooper 11 targets last week. Cant overlook that at TE and now the other pass catchers on his team are either banged up or got the sniffles. Hooper is inside my top 10 TEs this week for the first time all year.

TJ Hockenson If you're sensing a theme here you might be on to something. I'm trying to get pieces of this Jags/Lions game. Jags have allowed TDs to TEs in 3 straight weeks. I think TJ makes it 4.

Robert Tonyan Baby Kittle is in a prime spot to smash again. Should be a high scoring game and Carlton Davis will be shadowing Davante Adams.

Sit❌
Evan Engram It's not happening for Engram this year. I don't know if it's his this offensive scheme, Daniel Jones being bad, or his foot injury from last year zapping his explosiveness. Whatever it is I can't trust him.

Tyler Higbee Same for Higbee. Him and Engram are becoming rest of season fades for me. He can't be trusted and Everett looks to be more involved as the pass catcher this season.

Zach Ertz I can't trust Ertz either especially against Baltimore. He offers nothing after the catch and Wentz is having a bad year too. When Goedert comes back I think Ertz might fade into oblivion.

Quarterbacks
Start✅
Matthew Stafford With all his weapons healthy and a matchup with the Jags defense I predict a big game from Stafford.

Gardner Minshew If Stafford is putting up all those points on the other side Minshew is going to need to keep up. If Chark plays he gets a boost inside the top 10.

Ryan Tannehill It's crazy how good Tannehill has been since taking over last year. I think we need to just start viewing him as an every week QB1. This is no longer a slow moving offense.

Sit❌
Teddy Bridgewater I know he was a decent streaming option last week but I'm not letting it ride into this week. The Bears aren't a defense I see Teddy having success against.

Joe Burrow Another bad matchup for the rookie QB. He should have some success with Boyd in the slot here but that's probably it. He will be under pressure all game. It could get ugly.

Carson Wentz I'd start almost 20 QBs over Wentz this week I don't know why managers are trusting him against this defense. Get him out of your lineup.

That's does it for this week's start/sit hope you enjoyed reading. If you have any questions contact me on Twitter @Chris_Cianci. Enjoy the games today!!!!
