Week 6 Waiver Adds

                        Week 6 Waiver Adds

This week's edition of waiver adds is highly variable depending on your league size. My #1 overall add this week would be Mattison if he's available but he won't be listed here because he's owned in most competitive leagues. My second would probably be Edmonds but it's the same situation as Mattison. I actually like Edmonds more long term. He's a buy candidate for me as well. Even if he doesn't take over the starting RB job in Arizona he has a pass catching role on that offense that's Flex worthy in PPR formats. Arizona also has a bunch of tasty matchups ahead so trying to aquire pieces of that offense wouldn't be a terrible idea.
With those 2 players out of the way here's a list of the remaining players available in most leagues in the order I'd add them and how much FAAB I'd be willing to spend on them.

#1 Chase Claypool Holy cow! I can't remember the last time a player burst on the scene like Claypool did Sunday. His breakout was most definitely aided by Dionte Johnson's exit from the game. Even so, I think the rookie has solidified his spot in the Steelers starting offense. Remember Pittsburgh uses 3WRs as a base formation. Of course we can't expect 4TDs every week moving forward or even WR2 value but I think he's immediately startable as a WR3 in this offense and if Johnson misses time that will boost his Ceiling even higher. The main issue here is FAAB bids. With such a huge explosion any realistic bid will likely not be enough. I think regardless of your situation you should put at least 15% of your FAAB on him. Absolutely worth a #1 waiver claim as well. If you're desperate at WR 50% isn't a crazy bid. I wouldn't go much higher unless it's a dynasty or keeper league situation. Those "empty your FAAB budget guys" are almost always RBs in redraft.

#2 Justin Jackson I recommended adding him last week in the off chance he would become the lead back for the Chargers. Well it happened. He led the Bolts in touches, carries and targets. Kelly is still a part of this offense but it's clear as of right now LA trusts the veteran a bit more. He has a bye in week 6 but he's worth 20-30% of FAAB budgets on RB needy teams.

#3 Christian Kirk Kirk is my favorite "not so obvious" add this week. Like I mentioned before the upcoming matchups for the Cards are favorable and he's been seeing the targets he needs to produce. I'll put 10-15% on him if I'm looking for a WR and not willing to spend up for Claypool.

#4 Matt Breida It appears his role in Miami is increasing. Jordan Howard was a healthy scratch this past week and Breida has become increasingly involved. He won't be startable right away unless you're really desperate but he can turn his role into Flex value during the heavier bye week crunches. 7% of FAAB for Breida

#5 Travis Fulgham His performance came out of nowhere and I truly believe it's an outlier. Alshon Jeffrey will eventually return and Fulgham might go back to the practice squad. I'd much rather own Greg Ward in this offense but there's a slight chance the Eagles found something here. 5% max FAAB for him if you're a believer but you'll probably get out bid by other managers chasing his points.

#6 Trey Burton This one kinda hurts. Burton has rendered Mo Alie-Cox droppable and has less upside. That being said he's clearly the starting TE on the Colts. With the desolate TE landscape we are currently in he's worth an add at 3-5% of FAAB.

That does it for this week's waiver adds. If you're wondering where a few guys like Laviska Shenault, Mecole Hardman, Brandon Cooks, Tim Patrick and Greg Ward are on this list. I'm assuming they are owned. If they are available they are all worth a look. Specifically Hardman with Watkins possibly missing time. I'd throw a 10-20% bid on him if he's out there. Probably the same with Laviska and Cooks. The rest are 5-10%ers if available. A 0 bid bye week filler I like is Jamaal Williams. He goes under the radar but has a solid role in an explosive offense. Same goes for Cole Beasley. There's a sneaky "pre-add" in this rare Tues night game if you have room on your bench. Kalif Raymond, add him now if you have a spare spot. He should see increased work opposite AJ Brown and has some big play making ability.
